Missing! One Lost Tooth!

Last night, with far less drama than last time, we yanked Annie's remaining wiggly front tooth out. We put the girls to bed. As usual, they did not immediately go to sleep. Sabrina was writing notes to her teacher and Annie decided to draw a picture of her tooth.

Apparently she put the tooth down on her sister's bed, told Sabrina to watch the tooth for her, and went to go get paper for her drawing. Later when she was drawing the tooth she needed it to look at for her drawing and asked Sabrina where it was. Sabrina had no idea.

So now we are missing one lost tooth. We have stripped the beds, cleaned the rooms, picked up the mattresses. Nothing. I think we will be putting her drawing of her tooth under her pillow tonight for the tooth fairy. Anybody else had this happen? Did the tooth fairy pay up anyway? Annie says if the tooth fairy doesn't pay, maybe I should just give her money. Hmmm.

I will have to get some video of Annie talking without her teeth. She is SUPER cute and with her permanent teeth already coming down we will only get to see this toothless grin for a short while.

see #3 question. my daughter was so panicked that her first tooth would just fall out while she was talking, or showering, or sleeping, so she was relieved to know that the toothfairy has a helper to find all lost teeth.

My daughter dropped her tooth down the sink drain. She was so sad, so Daddy took apart the drain, to see if he could find it. He never did. We wrote the tooth fairy a note explaining, and she was kind enough to pay her anyway. My son wanted to keep his first tooth he lost, so he asked if he could write a note and ask for it. The tooth fairy was pretty accomodating, and let him keep it- and he still got paid. :) Good luck!

This happened with my daughter's very first lost tooth! She dropped it somewhere on the shag rug and we never did find it. She wrote a long note to the tooth fairy, explained what happened, and asked the tooth fairy to use her magic to find it. The tooth fairy graciously left money anyway, along with a note saying that she searched for, but couldn't find the lost tooth. If Little Miss C were ever to find it, she promised to return and retrieve it, leaving an additional monetary reward. It seemed to satisfy her!

out of the 8 teeth my son has lost, he has swallowed 3, lost one, and one went down the drain...the tooth fairy usually gets left a note and he always gets his $$. I am glad the tooth fairy doesn't stress my little guy out if he doesn't have the actual tooth. good luck and hopefully this is her one and only missing tooth ;)

Abbie lost a tooth at school a month or so ago while she was eating an apple. Abbie and her teacher wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what had happened to the tooth and put it under her pillow. The tooth fairy was very understanding and Abbie got a little more than usual for all the trama caused by the tooth.

One of my daughters lost her tooth and we left a note for the tooth fairy under her pillow explaining the problem. The tooth fairy left her money. That tooth fairy is one nice lady.

I am glad to see the tooth fairy isn't hurting during these economic troubles! My daughter swallowed her 6th one (after brother kicked it to "help") and we left a note.

She looks soooo cute!

Hmmm, missing tooth. My girls haven't reached that age yet so I'm no help there. But I'm sure that the tooth fairy has magical powers that will help her find it :)

ha ha. My son is almost 7 and lost his front 2 teeth in the last 6 weeks too. The last one he lost while eating dinner, and he carefully laid it down on the table. When we went to get it for underneath his pillow, we realized that my husband had cleaned off the table and wiped it up and threw it away. We searched and searched through the trash that night, looking for it. It probably didn't help that we had rice for dinner and there was a few cups of leftover rice in the trash too. I looked through the rice one by one, but we never found it either! We left a note, and yes, the tooth fairy came anyway....

Let Anne Marie write the tooth fairy a note and slip it under her pillow. Then leave the money under her pillow with a little bit of glitter as fairy dust so she knows for sure the tooth fairy has come.

She is so cute with no front teeth. I'd love to see Annie's picture of her tooth.

We lost a tooth on the playground once and the tooth fairy paid up...a few days late..oops!

The tooth fairy is frequently late at our house--she must be really, really busy all the time.
The only tooth we've LOST-lost (so far) got knocked out in a playground accident. The tooth fairy actually left a little extra that time--to compensate for the extra trauma, I suppose. :)

Charlotte's two front teeth are super wobbly. I MUST get a picture of her whilst they are still in, and some footage of her speaking.

As soon as I read your comment about Annie's speech, I got a shock to my stomach. What if her gorgeous little voice changes? I have to record it for posterity!

Thanks for the reminder.

Love

Just yesterday my 8-year old son swallowed his loose tooth. We left a note for the tooth fairy and she did leave something for him under his pillow. We didn't want to traumatize him...ingesting the tooth (or misplacing it) was upsetting enough. Not getting the $, would have sent him over the edge.

My 8 year old recently lost a tooth and the toothfairy came, left him money, but forgot to take the tooth. We are still waiting on her. He figures when he looses another one she'll just get the new one and the old one. The toothfairy can do anything she wants. :)

This happened to Lauren and Chris. They left notes, and the tooth fairy paid up.
FYI We told our kids that if they had cavities in their teeth that were lost, THEY had to leave money under their pillow for the tooth fairy! They brushed really well! ( :

The tooth fairy leaves all teeth behind at our house....so if a tooth is missing, it's no big deal- he/she doesn't need them anyway!

She’s so cute! I find it amusing to watch how little kids are obsessed with their tooth once it’s pulled out of their mouth. Once my nephew loses a tooth for the first time, I’m going to slip money under his pillow. :-)

May no longer be relevant - but for all others who may Google this topic while trying to help a despondent child who has lost a tooth in shag carpet - a black light should help you find the missing treasure. You can use a true "black light" or UV flashlight that people use for finding scorpions or illuminating ID cards, a UV light that women use for curing their manicures, or if you're from that special generation, a black light poster illuminator. :-) My daughter and her mother spent a couple of hours searching unsuccessfully for the tooth. Then we grabbed a black light and found the tooth within seconds. Happy searching!

My husband inadvertently dropped my daughter's tooth down the drain! She has been terribly upset. It is helpful to read about others' similar experiences. Thanks for posting. We are hopeful that the tooth fairy is understanding.
