a poem that touched me

i carry your heart
by ee cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope of the mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

I wrote a Christmas story that goes with that poem, Stephanie. If you like, I'll send it to you.

Just email me if you want it. (You can find my email address in my profile at www.grannysuesnews.blogspot.com).

Needless to say, I love the poem, too.

=)

Hi Stephanie I know you dont know who I am but my cousin has you on her blog so I read yours everyonce in a while. I feel connected to you through your experiences. My sisters little girl past away of a tragic accident May of 2008. I just want to tell you I love how you tell us how you feel cause that is one thing that my sister doesnt do and I wish so badly we could understand more because like you said before, you are a changed person and I can see that in my sister too. Love reading your posts, gives me comfort:)
