Sucked In

I have been away on vacation again -- book vacation. It had been months since I had treated myself to the pleasure of diving in to a gripping novel. Last week one of my miamaids gave me a copy of Hunger Games to read. That night I read for an hour. I finished it the next night after being totally sucked in.

It was a great read. I am looking forward to getting the second book to start. Gabby you out there? Are you going to be home this week? I need #2!

Then yesterday I plowed through a terribly wonderful book called Walk Two Moons. My friend and neighbor lent that one to me. It was very well written and powerful as well. But it did make me cry more than I would have liked to last night. The birds of sadness were nesting in my hair last night after reading it.

I love reading. I think when all my kids are in school I am going to take a couple months and just read all day while they are gone. :) Because then there will be nothing else that I HAVE to do right? ;) Right.

Happy Thanksgiving Week Everyone! And Gabby, I am serious, Book 2 -- I need it!

Edited a few hours later -- Thanks Gabby! I will be enjoying Book 2 now!

I loved Hunger Games and I loved the second one Catching Fire as well. That sounds like so much fun, curling up with a good book. I think I am going to do that this week, I just need to find a good book.

I have it if you want to borrow it!!!!
ALso you should read Graceling and Fire by Kirsten.. something... they are very good! Alot like Hunger Games, well, kind of.
Also if you haven't read the City of Bones series, it is wonderful.
These are all along the same lines of mythical style novels....

I LOVED Hunger Games, I didn't like Catching Fire as well because I didn't feel it stood on its own as a book...more of a teaser for book 3, but still an enjoyable read.

I also love The Hunger Games. Catching Fire was just as good.

I love to read. It's been over a year since I've finished a book though. Maybe I need to try something a little less meaty and I could get through it. (books like Middlemarch & A Tale of Two Citites just take a lot of brain matter to get through...ahhhh but totally worth it.)

Hunger Games was so good...Catching Fire was good too but it's going to be a long wait til the third one. I hate waiting. I think I may follow your lead and once all my kids are in school, I'll read all day. Sounds great!

I had my DH preview Hunger Games for me and he said I wouldn't like the premise, so I skipped it. Maybe I missed out?

Good for you Steph! It is a cheap way to vacation. I am glad you liked Walk Two Moons- it is my favorite kid book. I was worried it would make you sad, but I think the read is worth it. Hope you are feeling strong today.

I love reading, too, always have. It's my favorite escape. I've been meaning to read The Hunger Games ever since Stephenie Mayer reccommended it on her site.
