Getting back to Life

I feel like I am finally starting to emerge from the newborn cocoon. Noble still is up 3 times a night to eat but at least not I know pretty well how to get him down to sleep. I feel like we are starting to form a schedule. It is nice.

So today I put him down after his morning awake time and headed to Pilates. It is my first time back since about 2 months before having him. Too long. It was pretty sad how much strength I have lost in those 4 months. I did alright - I mean I was sweating and panting and working my bootie off but at least I COULD do the exercises. At least until we got to the abs. hmmm. yeah...

I couldn't even do 1 sit up. Not even 1. It was so sad. But my muscles did get worked out and I am feeling it tonight. I will be working on those abs big time so I can once again do the ab exercises.

I feel worked tonight. It is a good feeling. Work really is a blessing. We don't always like doing it but it makes us feel good to do it and get it done. It is a part of life and a good part. I am glad to be back at it.

Stephanie in everything you do, you are an inspiration...I'm going to get out my pilates mat and get going again too! It's fun to have someone who's just starting out too, well starting out AGAIN should I say...I gave it up for awhile. And while I'm doing those exercises I'll think of you and you can be my long distance exercise partner.

isn't that weird how sometimes we don't want to do it but we feel so much better after we do!!

Give your stomach muscles a break! At best they are like super-stretched rubber bands right now. Try this post-pregnancy tummy exercise (it sounds wimpy, but you might be surprised):
Get on your hands and knees (like a doggie). Now suck your tummy up toward your spine. Hold it as long as you can. Do as many reps as you can. This should start toning it a little. :)

Good for you. Pilates is hard and give your poor abs a break. They have been through a lot lately. They'll come around.

I can totally understand not wanting to disclose exactly where you go to class, but do you mind sharing generally? I ask because I'd like to take Pilates and am not sure about how to choose a studio. I have an acquaintance who teaches privately, but it's a bit too pricey. I'm in the Henderson area, too.

I think we all have those cocoon moments, though I feel I cannot compare my meager attempts and strength to yours. You inspire many, including me, and we all owe you a huge thanks.

Teri,
I go to Pilates+

You can go to their website at www.thepilatesplus.net to find out more about them. I do the classes and usually there are only a couple of people in a class (like 2 or 3).

love,
stephanie
