Dance Review

I just finished watching the results announcing the top 20 and I am very excited for this season. I am so glad that Brandon and Evan made it through. I was bummed that the Miami Ballet guy couldn't get out of his contract. I hope he comes back.

I liked so many of the people chosen. I was sad to have the brothers have to be split and hope that the older brother will come back for the fall season. They seem to have a pretty good mix in this season and I am excited to see how they partner up. That always makes a BIG difference. A good chemistry can help so much to sell a partnership.

There will be no party this next week as I will be in California but the parties will start the following week. I am looking forward to it! It is great to have something to look forward to.

I also was sad about the brothers. It really gets exciting now!! Glad the cuts are over... it is so emotional for them to have worked so hard and then be let go. I have to say that I love Cat too! That girl is seriously one down to earth, kind person, don't you agree? I haven't picked a favorite girl or guy yet, but I am sure I will next week!!

I was so sad for the Miami Ballet company guy. He is so incredible as he is, and seems to have massive amounts of untapped talent in other dance genres that he hasn't even begun to discover. I can't imagine how he can go back to the Ballet company with good feelings and still dance his best for them after they cut off his dream. Hopefully his love of dance will overcome any negative emotion. I guess in their mind a contract is a contract no ifs, ands or opportunities of a lifetime!

I was sad that Natalie didn't make it through. I thought she did great. I was also sad the Miami ballet guy didn't make it. I thought that the ballet company should have let him out so he could pursue more avenues of dance. I know he had a contract and all, but it seemed selfish of them. I'm excited for this year's dancers too!

I felt sorry for the brothers AND for the ballet guy. But I did agree with most of the picks. And I'm sure at that point it's very difficult to decide.

Can't wait for Wednesday!

I love it I love it I love it! I was sad for miami ballet guy too - but what I was thinking was that so many people audition for this show to try to make a career of dance, to get the kind of opportunity he already has, so I hope he's grateful for that!
ALso, I was bummed they cut Natalie again - (the smiley redhead) she's is amazing. I was confused about alot of their cuts and who they kept, but I really think they put alot of their judgement into their personality, their story, and their commercial factor too.

The only choice I didn't like was between the last 2 girls. I really liked the blonde tap dancer (I don't remember names...I know, what kind of fan am I)! But I am confused, and Stephanie, I knew you would have the answer for me! Last year's runner up, Katie, auditioned with her roommate, and the last spot came down to those two and the judges chose Katie. I don't remember the other girls name...but she auditioned this year...and all the sudden last night I realized she was gone! What happened to her??? I thought she was amazing last year and even more this year! When did she get cut?

Carrie,
Her name was Natalie and she was cut after the Sonya routine. It was pretty much a total shock but I did think she did the routine better in practice than in the audition. I think we don't get to see so much that it is sometimes hard to understand some of the cuts.

loves,
stephanie

I've been a fan of SYTYCD from the first season. It is fun, uplifting entertainment. I'm looking forward to another summer of following these talented dancers. I was disturbed by Mia's harsh, cruel comments to Brandon. I felt it was inappropriate for her to tear him down like that. I'll be cheering for him!

Thanks Stephanie! I knew you would have the answer! I still can't figure out how I missed that...I guess I was probably tending to some little ones desperate need at that moment! I hope you have a WONDERFUL baptism day with Sabrina! My thoughts and prayers are always with you...but especially this coming week!

I agree about Mia's harshness to Branden. I thought it was totally uncalled for. She is always on people's cases for being cocky, but I think that she has become really cocky over the years. I was SO glad that Nigel cut her off and let the people who had more positive things to say talk. I also thought Tyce was overly rude during the auditions that he was a judge in. It's one thing to be honest, but you don't have to be mean. I am SO excited for the real competition to begin -- Wednesdays and Thursdays can't come fast enough!

I was sad about the brothers too. I love SYTYCD. Do you know that when this season is over, they are starting up the next season? I am thrilled! I'm enjoying your blog.
