Dance Review

Seeing as so many of you share my passion for "Dance" and you do not live close enough to come to the parties I will be hosting. I am going to make the day after the performance show a review post. Sorry to those who don't watch the show or don't care about it.
I actually was travelling last night so I had to wait till this morning to watch the first show. So after a sleep deprived night and after my first big nap of the day, I turned on some "Dance" to wake me up enough to be a responsible mom.
New York is always good for big talent. It did not disappoint. I loved the very first audition they showed. I could not believe that girl suffered from RA. She was amazing. Performance wise I think she might have been my favorite. She stood out from the crowd for me.
I loved that Natalie (Katee's friend) and the other guy that made Mary cry were back and that they both made it though. I have high hopes for them.
I was disappointed by the lack or really cool hip hop dancers. Seemed there were more amazing contemporary dancers last night. There were also few good ballroom auditions. I loved the one with the eternal pot spin but was sad that the girl didn't make it past choreography.
I will defintitely be watching this show again when I get home on my HDtv. :) I was thrilled with all the great little dance clips they collaged together and hope to see more of those great auditions in the coming weeks.
I wish FOX would post on the internet more of the auditions so we could watch them. Anyone out there work for FOX???
What did you think of the show and who were your favorites from this round of auditions?

I was suprised that the ballroom girl dancer {who did the pot spin} didn't make it. I thought they were good. I liked the two brothers, and the one who tried out had an awesome personality. I hope he does come back next year. It was pretty good last night! I'm excited to keep watching! :)

I LOVED Natalie. I thought she was AMAZING! I've never watched the show before (I'm an American Idol girl at heart...) but I need something new for the summer and decided to give it a shot. LOVE it so far...there are some talented people out there!

I agree with you 100%. Those were all my favorites. The first one w/RA and the last two. So good. I was sad about the ballroom gal too! She was great during the audition. They didn't show much of the choreography for any of them, though. Bummer. The brothers were good...but...again...we didn't get to see much of the choreography.

Oh I agree with you those 3 were my favorite and the first girl was my most favorite! I feel silly how excited I get to watch that show!! I thought you were gonna say you enjoyed the very first male/male ballroom dancers!! :)

Loved it... although at times when judges are mean to "special people", that probably shouldn't have gotten through to the stage in front of judges! Just like American Idol... I would be entertained just watching real talent without the laughter or mocking that they put on. Otherwise, I loved it. Natalie is my favorite so far. Can't wait to see more! Have a great holiday weekend!!

Stephanie, I am happy to see that someone else is as fanatical about this show as I am. (I did recap posts after every show last season :)!) It is the highlight of my year and the only good show on in the summer. I am THRILLED that there's going to be a Fall season. I am SERIOUSLY hoping that the red head from Utah (she was the daughter of a choreographer from High School Musical), who made it to Vegas last year and then got cut at the very end, comes back. Does anyone else remember her? She got robbed. Everytime I think about the show, I think about her audition from last season, which was one of the best and hope that she tries again.

I love watching the other night--there is some good talent this year! I am glad Natalie came back, she is a good dancer, and seems so sweet and deserving, too!

So far you and I have the same favorites. Living with a disability, I admired the girl with RA who gave it a shot. The stories were inspiring to me. I too was a little disappointed that there wasn't much Hip Hop yet. Auditions aren't over so maybe just maybe we'll get some! Definitely my summer show to watch!

i finally watched it! yay. i can't remember his name but the black guy at the end who made the crazy judge bahl her eyes out was AMAZING! my word. i also liked the blond girl who was raised by her grandparents. she has a cool story and she seemed like such a nice girl. was her name kayla? the judge with the mohawk is too much for me. but i love the guy and girl judges who are married and such a cute couple.
