A Baby This Week

I just got home from the doctor. She irritated my cervix. Never a pleasant experience. ;) She thinks I will go into labor on my own this week. I am not getting my hopes up, but will do all I can to help things along.

I already cleaned all my bathrooms this weekend. Maybe I will end up scrubbing my tile floors downstairs just for the heck of it. That put two of my friends into labor last week. They were both not due till later this week.

If nothing happens this week she has scheduled me for an induction on Sunday. So a week from now I should have a new baby.

Just giving you all the update. I'll let you know if anything crazy happens like I actually start having contractions on my own.

I never have been lucky to go into labor on my own, my kids seem to need a little nudge!! Go early? What's that? :) How exciting! Getting so close!

Ahhhh...the end is in sight. It is such a wonderful feeling! With my ninth baby I had to start labor on my own instead of being induced since I was trying for my first VBAC. My husband and I used pressure points to give me contractions. It worked quite well. You can google it or email me for more information. stephk at pmt.org

I looked all over trying to find ways to get labor started and the only one I was willing to try was eating fresh pineapple. Don't know if it was pure coincidence or not, but I ate some (not just a little-luckily I love pineapple)and had my baby about 30 hours later. Can't hurt. Might help. :)

Oh, yeah my Dr swept my membranes with my last and it was very uncomfortable to say the least but I went into labor the next night.

It sounds like you're in the final frenzy of nesting...definitely a sign of impending labor. Hopefully you won't have to be induced.

i still really want you to have your baby on cinco de mayo so that you can give him a name like paco or carlos. just kidding.

i hope you go into labor on your own soon! i'm so excited for you. i hope everything with your delivery goes the way you are hoping and that you're able to deliver naturally. how cool would that be. i'm too scared, but i think it's super cool that you're doing it.

can't wait for the updates!

I hope you'll be able to go in on your own! When I was pregnant with my first son, I had picked the date he would be born (May 5th) early on in pregnancy. I really wanted to be right- so the day before I walked for 5 hours. I don't know if that's what did it, but I did go into labor, and had him on May 5th. :) As a side note, I guessed all 4 of my kids dates correctly. So I'm hoping I'm as good at guessing others dates, as I was my own. :) I can't wait to hear that little Noble is here. Best wishes to you!

WOW! I'm sure you are having mixed feelings right now, huh?! However, it will be great to have Noble here and to finally meet him. Thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Love ya,

I'm so excited to hear there will be a baby within the week!! Finally!

I had my cervix irritated three times with my last one, but he still ended up 10 days over due and induced! The last weeks are hard! Good luck, I hope it will go well for you!! I'll be thinking about you!

Hi Stephanie:

I haven't commented a lot lately as I've had a yucky health flare-up - even typing hurts.

Just wanted you to know that I continue to think of you and pray for you & your family daily.

I pray for a smooth labor & delivery, a healthy son and remind you that my predicition is tomorrow at 1:50 PM (NDT) .. so .. you had better get moving - even with the 4 1/2 hour time difference :-)

Love 'n hugs,
kathyrn_m

I know you don't want to hold out for another 10 days but Araya was born on the 14th. And we would love to share birthdays with Noble. But for your comfort I hope you go sooner than later. Love you! Good Luck!

How exciting!! I believe my guess was for the 7th, but the 10th is even more special! What a nice Mother's Day gift he will be! Hope your delivery is a smooth one whenever he decides to join his sisters! Keep us updated when you can. Take care.

Many thoughts and prayers your way for a beautiful, blissful birth! Remember to breathe, it really is the key to it all...nice deep breaths. Essential oils and hot rice packs are awesome too! :) I can't wait to hear of Noble's birth, ushered in by angels, one in particular.

Chocolate Mousse Pie. I have a friend who swears that chocolate mousse pie will induce labor. It never worked for me, but it's yummy anyway! ;)

My new grandson was born on May 2. I thought that maybe you would go the same day, although I didn't guess that on your guess post. I will pray that you go on your own. My DIL only pushed 3 times and Little Jackson "Jack" was born. She WAS induced but 7 hours later delivered a healthy 8 lb. 1 oz. miracle. Now, go take that walk and get this going so we can see your handsome Noble.
