I spent about two hours in and out of the bath and timing stomach pains wondering if I was going into labor. This was not how I wanted to start labor. Still the pains were regular and about 5 minutes apart. Finally around 4:15 I woke Jon up and told him he better start packing for the hospital. (I hadn't quite gotten around to that yet.)
He jumped up and started gathering things. A few minutes (and one more trip to the bathroom) later the pains subsided and I felt sleepy. My sweet husband was wonderful about me waking him up to my false alarm and just went cheerfully to work. I love this man.
Just a false alarm and I am feeling fine today. But I found it ironic that this came right after I said I was feeling really good. :)

The same thing happened to me when I had Emma. I was feeling great on the 16th and even wrote in my journal how things were great, life was good, and I had no complaints even though Andrew was away at Basic Combat Training. The next day, my blood pressure when through the roof and they hospitalized me! Blessing in disguise though since they decided to induce and that meant Andrew had enough time to get home for the birth!
At least you were kind of prepared for it right?! :) Hope all goes well for you in the next few weeks!
Ain't that always the way though! It's Murphy's Law, I'm telling you, he messes with me ALL the time.
ooh, it's so exciting!!! There is going to a baby soon!
I hope today is a good one. Glad you are taking it easy and relaxing before the new addition. I'm so excited for you!
I did something similar. I wrote a post about how well I was feeling in my third trimester not getting sick anymore, and the very next morning I was face down in my garbage can. I guess I should have knocked on wood.
Keep hanging in there! At least you're a bit more prepared.
Hahaa, isn't that how it generally works?? Seriously, I am very cautious with things I say sometimes! :)
I'm guessing you were dehydrated. that would explain the nausea (which I'm sure was also related to the vitamin), the headache, AND the contractions. What do you think? This is getting exciting though! Can't wait to see the little guy. Let yourself rest up for that natural labor you're planning.
Love ya!

Oh, wow, I hope you are feeling better. I remember taking those vitamins and the affect they can have if you take them in a different way. At least you and hubby had a little bit of a dry run for practice. Get those bags packed!
Hi Steph - long time no comment. I'm excited for you and your family... and I'll be watching for the news. We're having a boy, too (at least that's what the ultrasound showed) due on May 15th. Exciting times. I enjoyed reading your last post and the many comments about pain meds. I still haven't decided what I want. Best wishes.
so....it's been a couple of days without a post...everything ok?
