Insanity

Is it possible to go insane from a lack of sleep?
And if so, why is it that I am the only one in this picture who might be losing her sanity?

  1. yes, it is absolutely possible. next step is you start to hallucinate. i'm so sorry! lack of sleep is one thing i DO NOT deal well with. peter slept in his car seat (with a blanket underneath him) all swaddled up for the first two months of his life. it was the only way to get him to sleep for long periods. lucy did the same thing. maybe it's worth a shot.

i love noble's little outfit in this photo. he looks absolutely precious. i say do absolutely whatever you can to get some sleep. babysitters..whatever! it is a priority.

  3. ya know ... there's this lady who has been known to give off sleep pheromones to babies!! I heard she's worked wonders with one of your other children! :D

it's just getting her out to your house that's the problem ... hmmm ... i'll work on that.

maybe you can just send Noble my way!

just think of it this way - he's giving you a reason for not being able to sleep ... instead of the ago ol' insomnia!

sorry ... just trying to make you laugh.

    hang in there, my friend.

    much love!

  4. I'm of the old-fashioned "let baby cry it out" persuasion. (Oops, showing my age now!)

But we old ladies usually did get a good night's sleep!

    ;)

PS. Ah, well. This, too, shall pass. Hang in there!

  5. I am so sorry. My little guy is having the same problem, when people stand up in Relief Society and say "I am so happy my baby is sleeping through the night" and their baby is younger then mine, I want to hit them! My older two didnt sleep through the night until they were much older so I dont have much hope for this one, but I hope your little guy sleeps better soon!!

  6. I agree with the swaddling--and the car seat. My twins slept this way until they were 4 mos.

  9. Yes, it is definitely possible. That is why it is important for all of us mothers to stick together...then we don't seem quite so crazy (to ourselves, at least). LOL! Even though Madilyn has been sleeping through the night for quite some time, I still can't. Oh, well.....enjoy the insanity....Noble is one handsome little man!

  12. Awww look at that sly smile. hehe. cute. I hear you. My 3rd woke EVERY hour and a half for more than his first year of life. Ahhhhh. The good news, that same child now almost 4yo, sleeps a good almost 12 hours straight! There's hope, hang in there!

  14. I think you can go insane without sleep. I know I have. Ha!

But I do agree with getting some help so you can get some much needed R&R. Have a family member or close friend take the kids to the park and ice cream.

Turn off your ringer and answering machine also post a note on the doorbell "DO NOT DISTURB" I always do this when my little one is down for a nap. We get a good 2 hour nap or longer.

Also however Noble sleeps the most comfortable, let him sleep like that at night too. My oldest slept in his swing until he was 5 months. My middle one I would give her a bottle before bed and she would sleep longer than I'd nurse her all the other times. My youngest slept in her bouncer until about 6 months old.

Good luck to you. I hope you find something that works for the both of you.

  15. Yes, possible, and quite probable. I have a 4 1/2 month old and I feel your pain. What I wouldn't give for a full night's sleep without interruption. But then again, I get to see his happy smiley face every day because of it. It's just too bad that they are able to nap so much during the day when we aren't!
